The next Better-B public event will take place on 25 November 2026 in Bragança, Portugal, and online. We will be holding the event in both English and Portuguese (and a little bit of Spanish).
We will learn how the landscape affects resistance to pesticides, explore the genetics of the honey bee and local adaptation, and gain an understanding of thermoregulation within the hive. We warmly invite you to discuss with us the Better-B concept for sustainable beekeeping by a two-track management approach separating production and reproduction. In the afternoon, there will be a practical session where we will learn how best to help the bee colony regulate the temperature inside the hive.
O próximo evento público do projeto Better-B terá lugar a 25 de novembro de 2026, em Bragança, Portugal, e online. O evento decorrerá em inglês e em português (e um pouco de espanhol).
Iremos aprender como a paisagem afeta a resistência aos pesticidas, explorar a genética das abelha melífera e a sua adaptação local, e compreender a termorregulação no interior da colmeia. Convidamo-lo calorosamente a debater connosco o conceito Better-B para a apicultura sustentável, baseado numa abordagem de gestão em duas vertentes que separa a produção da reprodução. À tarde, haverá uma sessão prática onde iremos abordar a melhor forma de ajudar a colónia a regular a temperatura no interior da colmeia.
